  • Tree Aloes of Africa Author: Ernst van Jaarsveld and Eric Judd

Aloes remain one of the most popular garden succulents because of their attractive flowers, appealing architecture and ease of growth. However, it is the tree aloes which have recently gained popularity  as garden plants, locally and abroad. They are used as focal points and also often containerized. This new book describes the seven Tree Aloes in detail and covers subjects like cultivation, pests and diseases and treats each species as they are found in habitat. The book is illustrated with beautiful watercolour paintings by Eric Judd and many colour photographs showing not only the plants but also the habitat they prefer. Click here to find out more.

About Penrock

Penrock Publications was established in 2008 in order to present to our readers books as beautiful as South Africa's flora. Our books are illustrated by well-known botanical artists to add that extra aesthetic touch. Our books are not only visually pleasing, affordable, quality productions, but the information presented is up-to-date and accurate, so that each of these coffee-table-quality books is also a botanical reference work in its own right. Through our network of independent professional artists, designers, editors and printers, Penrock also empowers authors to be better rewarded financially for the hard work and time they put into projects. Most of the books are typically prepared over many years of field work and dedicated research and thus special to the author. Acknowledging this huge personal investment in each project, we strive to keep the author involved in terms of giving input on the design, layout and general "feel" of the book, as well as to ultimately share in the success of the project. Our vision for each publication is that it will be aimed firstly at people who enjoys reading about our flora and secondly the collector or connoisseur who wants to build up a library of collectable books that will be valued long after publication.
